And all season I have been listening to Tom Waits' version of "T'aint No Sin" as in T'aint no sin to take off your skin and dance around in your bones.

Deep Autumn

Mmm, a wonderful week of the year. Nearly Halloween, nearly All Saints'. Time for dress-up, mystery, beauty, disguise.
I am throwing a Halloween party on Saturday, at my friends' house, as my apartment is not big enough to hold all of the ghosts and princesses. Pumpkin carving, trivia, and creepy cupcakes.
November 1 brings a big change for me; from working part-time at a little library I will change jobs to a full time, overtime, Big Office Job. A little scary, but good, just like Halloween.

And now, a reading
I am so enjoying the silver-tongued Rima's post at The Hermitage entitled October's Microcosmic Circus.
Go read it, post-haste.

Vineyard with Fairy Lights

My vacation sense is tingling. I wonder if they can make wine from those fairy lights. ✩
This photo is from Michael Regnier Photography, but I discovered it on Tumblr. I have a little tumblr if you are interested; it's not strictly fairytales, mostly just pictures that make me happy. It is called City-Not-Forsaken.

The Tempest
My thoughts:
1. Pretty.
2. Helen Mirren seems to be a good fit, but I usually don't care for switching genders like that. I like Prospero as a man, and I like the father-daughter relationship in the play. Hopefully it will turn out to be a good choice and not something done just to get a reaction or to be trendy.
3. Do the special effects with Ariel look a little...movie-of-the-week to you?
4. Alfred Molina = WIN.
What do you think? Will you see it? Got any reservations?
Edit: I forgot to mention, it's due out in "select theaters" on December 10th.

October Calendar

October snuck up on me, as all good autumn months should. My week has been full of birthday party plans, helping friends, working, and essentially living on the edge of panic. Boooo. Where is my fairy godmother? I'm beginning to think that this thing called 'planning' is a good substitute for magical relatives.
I hope your October is wonderful, full of chilly nights, rainy days (with a little bit of sun for comfort), pets, candy, crafting, traveling minstrels, and everything else that makes fall so sublime.
