Retro Harry Potter

I'd love to see some retro fairy tale illustrations from See and Speak.

To sigh for

Found these gorgeous bodices in an icon post on Livejournal, but couldn't find the source. If anyone knows it, please let me know; I am in love with these fibery, cobwebby dresses!

What if your roof were a sea of flowers?

Hiroshi Nakamura & NAP seem to think it would be divine, and I agree. (Don't overlook Dancing Trees, Singing Flowers while you're at their site.)

Goblin Fruit is live!

I am so glad I have the day off so I can sink my teeth into Goblin Fruit's Autumn 2009 issue!

Haunted chess!

Much love of this Zombie vs. Ghost chess set by Paolo Chiari. I have no idea what this man is up to (Give his biography a try) but it's clear he's lovably twisted. He's my kind of people.

Drawing Down the Moon

Thanks to the lovely Charismitaine on Ravelry for pointing out that Charles Vess' book Drawing Down the Moon is available for free online viewing for a short while.

Obviously one cannot steal the pictures even for blogging, but that won't stop me from linking to one of my favorites. I love the slight art-nouveau touch he's got.

Something for your Sunday tea

Aaah! Waiter!

This adorable bat mug from Finnish designer Sami Rinne might actually to get me to drink tea! (Shh...don't tell that I don't like tea. It's like a fairytale world faux pas.)

Sarah Hood's jewelry

Sarah Hood's organic jewelry is to sigh for...I would be requesting that people call me Cobweb or Peaseblossom while wearing these necklaces, wouldn't you?

Ascender's Scatterlings

Do you see magic in all corners of your world?

Jacqueline Berl, who paints as Ascender, must. In each of her Scatterlings series, she finds bitty creatures hiding amongst the foliage...

October

O hushed October morning mild,
Thy leaves have ripened to the fall;
Tomorrow's wind, if it be wild,
Should waste them all.
The crows above the forest call;
Tomorrow they may form and go.
O hushed October morning mild,
Begin the hours of this day slow.
Make the day seem to us less brief.
Hearts not averse to being beguiled,
Beguile us in the way you know.
Release one leaf at break of day;
At noon release another leaf;
One from our trees, one far away.
Retard the sun with gentle mist;
Enchant the land with amethyst.
Slow, slow!
For the grapes' sake, if they were all,
Whose leaves already are burnt with frost,
Whose clustered fruit must else be lost--
For the grapes' sake along the wall.

This fall they all fall all around me

Preparing for the cold to come...

Hailing the chill in the air
mushroom turnovers and spiced drinks
cozying up with black kittens
blankets and gourds

are you ready to get lost in the woods once again?
